Gossip
This is my last blog,so I wanted to say what I thought about gossip. I think gossip is SO LAME! It can tear people apart, just because someone can't keep their mean thoughts to themselves. Why do we always have to talk about other people, and why can't it be nice!? What happened to the saying, don't speak if it isn't nice!? Since, we are all together, WHY CAN'T WE BE NICE TO EACH OTHER!

Nellie Bly
Today 7 Gold went to a field trip to the Newseum. It was really awesome! My group and few other groups went to the 4-D movie theater. It was so cool because, it felt as if I were in the movie. The technology utilized all of the senses except for taste. The moving seats made the movie experience more lifelike. The movie made it as if we were traveling through time, to the three great reporters. The one I really remembered was Nellie Bly. She was a reporter who went to an institute for psychologically challenged people and some of them were actually sane (before they went to the institute). The nurses at the institue were TERRIBLE! All of them were fat mean slobs. The women were treated so poorly! Nellie ate disgusting food and had taken a freezing bath. There were also mice in the rooms. Though, because of her efforts the place was donated a million dollars.

Substitues Again
Today, was a great day at school, as usual. My class had substitues again. For the same two classes, science and social studies. Except, during social studies the substitute was not there for the whole mod. The best thing was, that I didn't have my science test because there was a substitute. Also, I had P.E. today which was fun. For reading we read and got our textbooks. For homework we have to draw and I can't draw to save my life!

Substitues Mostly
Today was a great day at school, as usual. So far, this week has been crazy. Teachers are shoving tests, homework, projects and more down my throat. I got everything done, though. Back to today. Two of my teachers were out so, that made the day easier, all I did was worksheets, in social studies and science. For language arts, we listened/read a science fiction story called, "They Were Dark and Yellow Eyed". I thought the story was pretty good because I hadn't read good science fiction story in a while. However, my classmates thought the story was weird and funny.

School Daze
Today was a great day, as usual. Today, P. E. was really lame. Usually, at P.E. we exercise and listen to music at the same time. Though, today all we did was sit around and talk, no exercise AT ALL.IT WAS SO BORING! In science, we did a new lab, the question was, which bone would be rubbery the one soaked in vinegar or the one soaked in water. My table predicted that the bone soaked in vinegar would be rubbery and when we did our labs, the bone soaked in vinegar was really rubbery. I'm doing the conclusion for the lab. The students who are running for sga president and vice president, said their speeches over the intercom. I thought all of them were good, though the candidates can do a better job of getting their point across.

Inana, France, and Jeopardy
Today was a great day, as usual. In social studies, my class rewatched the Epic of Gilgamesh and then read the written versioon of it. We are also doing a character analysis of a character from the Epic of Gilgamesh. At first, I wanted to do mine on Inanna but changed my mind. Now, I want to do mine on, the Sumerian Noah, from Noah's Ark. In French class, we learned more about the history of France. For example, July 14th is the day France had stopped being a monarchy. In science, we are going to play jeopardy tommorrow, on the last three sections we have been studying. Also, in reading class we are learning about helping verbs.

Campaigning and Learning
Today was another AWESOME day.My friend is running for vice president and I'm her campaign manager. She has really great ideas for the school, like why it is so important to wear uniforms and the gum matter. Though, that's just the beginning. Right now, we are still trying to enlist people for her campaign. In language arts class we are doing the rough draft, of a memorable person. In class, I wrote a list of people that I might like to write about. The list included several of my friends and some members of my family. People I knew I would remember for a long time. In social studies, my class is learning about the Fertile Crescent and Mesopotamia. Mesopatamia is an ancient civilization, that was both hindered and thrived on the rivers that surrounded them. I'm really excited about learning more about the Fertile Crescent and the civilizations that had lived there.

Respect your Elders
Today, was a great day, as usual. In Language Arts, my class read An Hour with Mandela. I thought the author, message was not to think, that just a because a person is elderly, does not mean that they are boring. Instead of disrespecting them all the time, actually LISTEN to what they have to say. You might find that you have something in coomon. Like Arturo, from the story. At first, he thought he was going to have a terrible time but in the end, he learned something new about his grandfather. He learned that they both had the same ambitous attitude and they both loved to read. They were also very smart and mischeivious. Too bad though, the grandfather had to be drafted for war, and after the war he needed a college degree. So he had to take care of the old people and became a farmer. That was really lame to me. In the end, Arturo learns that his grandfather is not as boring as he thought.

Nelson Mandela at Home and School
Today was a great day at school, as usual. Right now me and my classmates are working on "Long Walk to Freedom"a memoir from Nelson Mandela. I thought the memoir was lame. It was about the hardships of obtaining freedom. Though,I do know that I have to have a past in order to have a future,I didn't like the story. He was just reminising about all of the darkness and racism in the past.He wasn't specific enough about his good times. I know freedom is something I take advantage of but, it was depressing. It made me think that he needed to start looking toward the future. He is very wise, but I think he needs to understand that everything is not darkness and racism.

School Day
Today was great as usual, for school that is. I learned something new and did a lab in Science. We did observations on, how a chicken bone compares to a rock. The rock was heavier, louder, but just as hard as the bone. I learned something new in French, which I have fun in. Besides, P.E. and Reading. Today, in French I learned how French sentences are formed. They use subjects and verbs, like English. Accept it was in French. When Mr.Temendou teaching how groups were classified, in men and women. The boys took it as, boys were dominant in France. Since, if there is a group of girls with a few boys, the group is called il-men, not elle-women. In the end Mr.Temendou put us back on track. My French class is loud, eager, and a bit talkative.Though, we learn and get our work done. For the most part, that is! Reading was unexpected. In class, two of our classmates shared their memories from childhood. One of them was really interesting, though. Other than that, we worked, learned about complete subjects and complete predicates, and did work. That was my awesome school day!
